The Orvela Alabaster Disc Pendant Light threads a ribbed metal column through a solid plate of natural alabaster, so the stone reads as a ring caught mid-orbit. Light escapes above and below the disc rather than through a shade, washing the plate from both sides and leaving the column as a dark silhouette.

Each disc is cut from quarried alabaster, so the veining and the way it carries light differ on every piece. The column is turned with fine horizontal ribs that catch a highlight on every ridge, and the integrated LED sits hidden inside it — nothing to fit, and nothing to replace.

Choose brushed brass for a warm, golden read against plaster and oak, or dark bronze for a heavier, more graphic outline. The single-disc version suits a kitchen island, a bedside or a hallway; the double-disc version stacks two rings of light and is built for a dining table or a stairwell. Each plate is cut from quarried alabaster, so the veining, the tone and the way light crosses it change from piece to piece. The disc that arrives will not match these photographs, and on the double version the two plates will not match each other.

The column is open at both ends of the disc, so light washes up the ceiling and drops through the base at the same time. The plate itself stays lit from both sides.

There is no diffuser and no glass. The stone takes the light directly, which is why the veining shows in the glow rather than disappearing behind a cover.

Brass and alabaster share the same amber cast, so the fixture reads as one warm object. It suits plaster, oak, marble and anything with brass hardware already in the room.

Dark Finish

A Dark Line Under the Glow

The dark finish turns the column into a silhouette and pushes the pale disc forward. It is the choice for black hardware, dark cabinetry and cooler, more graphic rooms.

One on its own	Over a nightstand or a reading chair, hung low enough to replace a table lamp and free the surface underneath.
A matched pair	Either side of a vanity mirror or a bed. In a bathroom, keep it to the dry side of the room — the fixture is IP20 and should stay clear of the shower zone. Set both cables to exactly the same length — on a round plate, a difference of half an inch is obvious.
Three over a round table	Stagger the heights by 4–8″ and cluster them off-centre rather than in a line. A round table takes a cluster better than a row.
Three over a long table	Keep them level and space the centres 24–30″ apart, with the outer two set in from the ends of the table rather than flush.

Cables are supplied at 59″ — the stagger is set on site, so decide the pattern before the fitter is on the ladder.

Alabaster is quarried, not manufactured. Plates are cut and set aside one at a time, so the disc you receive will differ from every photograph here — and on the double version, the two plates differ from each other.

Ordering a set of three is where it matters most. Ordered together, the plates are cut from stone chosen at the same time, so the run reads as one family of tone. Ordered months apart, they will not agree.

Tell us a direction before the order goes into production, and we can photograph the actual stone before it ships.

The Material

 

Quarried Stone, Not a Pressed Plate

This silhouette gets made in frosted glass, resin and acrylic too. Here is where the two part company.

Our standard return policy is valid for 30 days from the date you receive your order. If more than 30 days have passed since delivery, unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund or exchange.

Important: Items that have been installed, have broken wiring, or loose crystals are not eligible for return.

All returned items must meet the following requirements:

• Original Condition: Must be unused, unworn, and include all original tags, labels, and packaging.

• Complete Accessories: All accessories, manuals, and included items must be intact. Items requiring assembly must be returned unassembled.

• Proof of Purchase: You must provide a valid order number or proof of purchase.

Exceptions – Cannot Be Returned:
