Description

The Vaileth Curved Arm Chandelier is built from six metal arms that drop from a single collar, swing out into a long U, and rise again to hold a shade at the top. No crystal, no tiers, no glass. The whole piece is drawn with one line repeated six times, which is why it reads as elegant at a distance and almost minimal up close.

The arms sit at staggered heights rather than on one level, so the shades step up and down around the fixture instead of forming a flat ring. That is what keeps a six-light chandelier from looking like a wheel. Off-white clip-on shades sit on the sockets — quick to remove for cleaning, and easy to swap if you ever want a different fabric.

Choose brass for warmth against wood, plaster and brushed hardware, or bronze for a darker, quieter line that holds its shape against a pale ceiling. Both come with the same off-white shades. Available in three diameters, so it suits a small breakfast table as readily as a long dining room — a chandelier for dining rooms, entryways, kitchen islands, primary bedrooms and stairwells.

Why This One

One Line, Drawn Six Times

01

An Arm That Falls Before It Rises

Each arm drops from the collar, swings out into a long U and comes back up to hold its shade. Repeating that single gesture six times is the whole design, which is why there is no crystal or ornament anywhere on it.

02

Shades That Step Rather Than Ring

The arms finish at three different heights instead of all on one plane. That stagger is what keeps a six-light fixture from reading as a wheel, and it gives the silhouette depth from every side of the table.

03

Clip-On Shades, Not Fixed Ones

The off-white shades clip straight onto the sockets rather than screwing to the arms. They lift off in seconds for dusting, and years from now they can be swapped for a different fabric without touching the frame.

04

Brass Warms It, Bronze Quiets It

The same frame reads two ways. Brass picks up the wood and cream tones in a room and glows against them; bronze steps back and holds a clean dark outline against a pale ceiling.

Find Your Fit

Three Widths, One Height

All three sizes stand 28″ tall — only the reach of the arms changes. So the choice is not about ceiling height, it is about how much table or floor there is underneath.

42″

small

Still three and a half feet across. This is the one for a round table, a breakfast nook, a bedroom or an entry where the arms need room to reach without touching a wall.

55″

medium

The one most dining rooms want. It covers a six to eight seat table end to end and holds the middle of an open-plan living area without crowding it.

68″

large

Nearly six feet of reach. Built for a long table, a wide foyer or a reception area, where a smaller fixture would read as a dot on the ceiling.

Size Table or Space Best For
Small
⌀ 42″ × H 28″
Tables up to 60″ · rooms from 11 × 11 ft Round dining tables, breakfast nooks, bedrooms, studies and single-storey entries
Medium
⌀ 55″ × H 28″
Tables 66–84″ · rooms from 13 × 13 ft Six to eight seat dining tables, kitchen islands, living rooms and reception areas
Large
⌀ 68″ × H 28″
Tables 90″ and over · rooms from 16 × 16 ft Long dining tables, wide foyers, bars, open-plan voids and home meeting rooms

The Three Widths, Side by Side

Same 28″ height and the same six arms — only the reach changes

ceiling ⌀ 42″ tables up to 60″ nook · bedroom · entry ⌀ 55″ tables 66–84″ dining · island · living room ⌀ 68″ tables 90″ and over long table · foyer · bar

The three widths shown in proportion to each other. Chain length not to scale.

A line drawing compares the 42, 55 and 68 inch versions, each 28 inches tall.
Which Width to Order Measure the table, not the room. Aim for a fixture that leaves roughly 12″ of table clear on each side — so a 66″ table takes the 42″, and an 80″ table takes the 55″. Over an island or in an open room, go by the furniture group underneath rather than the ceiling.
Height Is Fixed, Drop Is Not Every size is 28″ tall. What changes with your ceiling is the chain: 59″ (150 cm) as standard, shortened on site by removing links. Hang the lowest shade 30–36″ above a dining table, or keep 7 ft of floor clearance anywhere people walk under it.
Allow for the Reach The arms swing well past the canopy before they rise, so the widest point is nowhere near the ceiling fixing. Check the clearance to walls, beams, cabinet doors and any wall art at the height the shades will sit — not at the height of the junction box.

Before you choose a width: people underestimate this fixture on screen because the arms are slim — but even the small size is three and a half feet across. Mark the diameter on the floor with tape, stand back, and look at it against the table before you order. If you are between two sizes over a dining table, the smaller one almost always looks right.

Made to Your Ceiling

Two Things to Settle Before You Order

Both are decided before the fixture ships rather than adapted afterwards — so if either applies to you, send us a line first.

01  Sloped Ceilings

An adapted canopy sits flush against a sloped ceiling with the chain still hanging plumb.

A Vaulted Ceiling Is Not a Problem

A standard canopy gaps at one edge on a pitched ceiling. We adapt the canopy to your pitch instead, so it sits flush and the chain still hangs plumb. Send us the angle and we will build it that way.

If you don’t: the canopy sits proud on one side and the whole frame hangs off-square. On a fixture this wide, an arm that is an inch low at one end is visible from across the room.

02  Chain Length

It Shortens. It Cannot Be Lengthened.

Every fixture ships on a 59″ (150 cm) chain, and links come off on site to set the drop. That covers most ceilings. If yours is high enough to need more, it has to be arranged before the fixture is built.

If you don’t: in a stairwell or a double-height room the chandelier hangs higher than you planned and reads as stranded near the ceiling — and there is no way to correct it once it has shipped.

Measure from the ceiling to where you want the bottom of the shades — 30–36″ above a dining table is the usual answer. Subtract the 28″ height of the fixture and you have the chain length you need.

Brass or Bronze

Same Frame, Two Different Rooms

The shape does not change. What changes is whether the arms glow against the room or draw a clean dark line through it. Both come with the same off-white shades, so the finish is the only decision.

The curved arm chandelier in a warm brass finish with off-white shades.

Brass

Warms the Room With It

Brass picks up the wood, cream and plaster already in a room and glows against them. Lit, the arms carry the same warmth as the shades, so the whole fixture reads as one temperature.

Choose it for: oak and walnut furniture, limewash or cream walls, brushed brass or unlacquered hardware, warm-toned stone.

The same chandelier in a dark bronze finish, its arms drawn sharply against a pale wall.

Bronze

Draws the Line Instead

Bronze steps back and lets the shape do the work. Against a white or pale ceiling the arms read as six clean strokes, and the off-white shades stand out sharply rather than blending in.

Choose it for: white or grey walls, black window frames, matte black hardware, modern farmhouse and high-contrast rooms.

If Your Room Has Take
Warm wood tones Brass. It sits in the same family as oak, walnut and rattan instead of cutting across them.
Black window frames Bronze. It picks up the frames and reads as deliberate rather than as a second metal.
A white ceiling and pale walls Bronze holds its outline. Brass can soften into a pale ceiling until it is switched on.
Existing brass hardware Brass, but check the tone. This is a warm aged brass, not a bright polished one.
A room you keep changing Bronze is the safer long-term pick — a dark line works against almost any wall colour you repaint to.

Both photographs are unlit, and deliberately so: switched on, the shades glow the same warm white in either finish, and the difference between them almost disappears. The finish matters for the other twelve hours of the day — choose it for how the fixture sits on your ceiling when nothing is switched on.

Where It Goes

Not Only Over a Dining Table

A chandelier this slim does not demand a formal room. The arms are thin enough that it fills a ceiling without weighing it down, which is why the small size works over a bed or a desk as readily as the medium does over a table.

A bronze curved arm chandelier lit above a round dining table.

Dining Room

Over a Round Table

Six shades spread the light right to the edge of the table, so nobody sits in a darker seat. The arms echo the curve of a round table rather than cutting a straight line across it.

Medium 55″ · Bronze · 30–36″ above the table

Entryway

Above a Sideboard

The first thing anyone sees at the door, and the brass warms an entry that gets no daylight. Keep 7 ft of floor clearance so nobody walks into the arms on the way past.

Bedroom

Centred Over the Bed

Fabric shades point the light down and outward instead of into your eyes from the pillow. On a dimmer, six small sources read as candlelight rather than as a ceiling fixture.

Small 42″ · Bronze · centre on the bed, not the room

Study

Over a Desk

Shaded bulbs mean no glare bouncing off a screen, and the curve of the arms softens a room otherwise made of shelves and right angles. Add a task lamp for close work.

Medium 55″ · Brass · pair with a desk lamp

Shown in both finishes and both smaller sizes — the large 68″ suits long tables, wide foyers and open-plan rooms.

The Shades

Six Small Shades, Clipped Not Screwed

On a fixture with this little metal, the shades carry most of what you actually see. They are woven fabric rather than plastic, and they clip into place rather than fixing to the arms — which is what lets them come off in seconds.

Close view of one tapered fabric shade seated on its brass socket.

The Fitting

Clipped On, Not Screwed Down

The shades clip into place rather than fixing to the arms, so there is no fitting to work loose over time and no tools involved in taking one off. Each one seats down onto the flared socket cup, which is what keeps it sitting square instead of tilting.

The woven off-white fabric seen up close against the slim metal arm.

The Fabric

Off-White, and Woven

Not a flat printed white. The weave is visible in daylight and shows through when the bulb is on, which is what gives the glow depth instead of a plain bright panel. Off-white rather than pure white, so it sits with cream and plaster rather than fighting them.

Living With Them
Taking One Off Power off and let the bulb cool first. The shades come off by hand, without tools — the instructions in the box show the fitting.
Putting It Back Press it down until it seats on the socket cup, then look along the row. A shade that is not fully seated shows immediately against the other five.
Cleaning Dust with a soft brush or a lint roller, on or off the fixture. Fabric marks if it gets wet, so no damp cloth and no cleaning spray anywhere near it.
All Six, Same Bulb Because the bulb sits inside the fabric, its colour shows through. One bulb at a different temperature reads instantly across six shades — fit the same 2700K bulb in every socket.

Why clip-on matters years later: a shade fixed to the arm ties you to that shade for the life of the fixture. These lift off, so the frame can carry a different fabric or a different colour whenever the room changes.

Installation

The Order Matters More Than the Wiring

Wiring a chandelier is routine work for an electrician. What people get wrong on this one is the sequence — shortening the chain after it is up, or fitting six fabric shades from the top of a ladder.

01

Chain First, on the Floor

Work out the drop and remove the links before the fixture leaves the ground. Doing it overhead means holding the whole frame with one hand.

02

Hang It Bare

Wire and mount the frame with no bulbs and no shades on it. It is lighter, easier to turn, and nothing can be knocked off while you work.

03

Level Before You Tighten

Step back and look at the arms from across the room, not from underneath. On a frame this wide a small tilt is invisible up close and obvious at a distance.

04

Bulbs, Then Shades

All six bulbs in, then the shades. Restore power and walk around the fixture once — a shade that is not seated shows against the other five.

Two People Wide rather than heavy — but a frame that reaches several feet across is awkward alone on a ladder. One person supports and turns it while the other wires and levels.
Handling Lift and turn the fixture by the central collar, never by an arm. Keep the shades boxed until the frame is up — fabric picks up marks from hands that have been near a ceiling.

Cutting the chain is the one step you cannot undo: hold the fixture at the height you want, sit down at the table, and look at it from there before a single link comes off. Chain length, sloped ceilings and voltage are all covered in the specifications above.

Care & Cleaning

Fabric Above, Metal Below

Two materials, one rule between them: nothing wet. Fabric shades stain and hand-finished metal scratches, so this is a dry-cloth fixture from top to bottom. The shades coming off is what makes that easy.

Do

Take the shades off to clean them — a lint roller or a soft brush lifts dust off fabric far better than a cloth.

Run a dry cloth along each arm in one pass, following the curve rather than working across it.

Switch the power off at the wall and let the bulbs cool completely first.

Support the arm with your free hand whenever you are working on a shade or a bulb.

Check that all six shades sit level after any cleaning — one out of line is the thing people notice.

Don’t

No water, damp cloth or cleaning spray on the fabric — it marks, and the mark stays.

Never spray anything at the fixture; liquid runs down an arm and reaches the socket.

No metal polish on brass or bronze — it cuts through the finish and leaves a bright patch.

Don’t pull or lean on an arm to reach a far shade; move the ladder instead.

Don’t hang anything from the arms or the chain, including seasonal decorations.

Fabric Shades Dry only. A lint roller every few months keeps the off-white even — fabric dulls gradually, and it is easier to stay ahead of than to recover.
Brass Finish Dry cloth along the arm. This is a warm aged brass rather than a polished one, so leave it alone and let it stay as it is.
Bronze Finish Dark finishes show dust more than they show fingerprints. A quick pass with a dry cloth every few weeks is all it asks for.
Changing a Bulb Power off, let it cool, lift the shade off, then change the bulb. If one goes, consider replacing all six at once — a single new bulb rarely matches five aged ones.
Kitchens Over an island, cooking grease settles into fabric faster than dust does. Take the shades down every few months and brush them before the film sets.

The one thing worth doing yearly: take all six shades off at once and look at the fixture bare. It takes a few minutes, the metal is far easier to dust without them, and seeing the shades side by side is the only reliable way to tell whether one has gone dustier than the rest.

Questions, Answered

Curved Arm Chandelier FAQ

Which width should I choose?
Go by the table, not the room. Aim to leave roughly 12″ of table clear on each side — so a 66″ table takes the 42″, an 80″ table takes the 55″, and the 68″ is for tables of 90″ and over or a wide foyer. All three are 28″ tall, so height is not part of the decision.
Brass or bronze?
Brass warms a room that already has wood, cream or plaster in it. Bronze steps back and holds a clean dark outline against a white ceiling, and picks up black window frames or matte black hardware. Lit, the two look almost the same — choose for how it sits on the ceiling during the day.
Are bulbs included, and which should I use?
No — it takes six E14 bulbs and bulbs are not included. Use warm white around 2700K, and fit the same bulb in all six: the bulb sits inside a fabric shade, so one at a different colour temperature reads instantly across the fixture.
Can it be dimmed?
Yes, with dimmable E14 bulbs and a compatible wall dimmer. The fixture has no driver of its own, so the dimming depends entirely on the bulbs you buy — check the packaging says dimmable.
How high should it hang, and can the chain be shortened?
30–36″ above a dining table, measured to the bottom of the shades, and at least 7 ft off the floor anywhere people walk under it. The chain is 59″ (150 cm) as standard and shortens on site. For a higher ceiling, or a sloped one, contact us before ordering.
Do the shades come off?
Yes — they clip into place rather than fixing to the arms, so they lift off by hand for cleaning and go back on in seconds. That is also what lets the frame carry a different fabric years from now if the room changes.
How do I clean it?
Dry only, top to bottom. Take the shades off and lift the dust with a soft brush or a lint roller; run a dry cloth along each arm. No damp cloth on the fabric, and no metal polish on the brass or bronze — it cuts through the finish. Power off and let the bulbs cool first.

The Vaileth Series —

Where Architectural Grace Anchors Every Gathering

Every home has a center where life naturally gathers — the soft sofa by the hearth, shared laughter around the dinner table, or the quiet pause as dusk settles over the room. The Vaileth Chandelier was crafted to anchor that very space.

With sweeping, dramatic arms that curve gently upward like a floating sculpture, it commands the room with effortless poise. Its tapered linen shades filter light into a soft, golden warmth that fills the space below, while hand-brushed metallic accents catch the gentle glow — bringing timeless elegance to quiet evenings and lively conversations alike.

Sinuous Proportions —

Motion in Stillness

The Vaileth is crafted from solid metal with a hand-brushed finish — featuring dramatic, long-sweeping arms, a central gathering hub, and tapered woven-linen shades, available in rich Aged Brass or deep Antique Bronze.

Every curve exists with intention. The upward-reaching arms lift the visual weight of the fixture to expand the room’s sense of height, while the linen shades diffuse raw illumination into a soft, inviting atmosphere. Form serves mood.

Of Brass, Linen, and Sculptural Grace — this is modern classic design in its most refined form: sweeping silhouettes, warm tactile materials, and a quiet presence that never overwhelms a space, only elevates it.

Premium
Our Premium Materials

Our Premium Materials

  • Tightly woven linen blend — smooth, uniform weave creates a clean, sophisticated surface texture
  • Precision-trimmed rolled edges — seamless, fray-free borders ensure a crisp, high-end silhouette
  • Balanced light diffusion — soft inner lining paired with dense fabric emits a warm, glare-free glow
  • Long-lasting structural integrity — premium woven material holds shape and resists dust and fiber breakdown
Standard Materials

Standard Materials

  • Open coarse burlap weave — loose, irregular natural fibers create a rough, unfinished surface
  • Unfinished frayed edges — visible loose threads and exposed seams create an untamed, unrefined look
  • Uneven light leakage — wide gaps in the loose weave cause harsh glare and blotchy light distribution
  • High-maintenance material — prone to shedding, trapping dust, and unraveling along exposed edges over time
