Description

The Wisteria Glass Leaf Branch Floor Lamp brings the same cast brass branch and textured glass leaves as our Wisteria wall sconce down to floor height — a slender trunk rising from a sculptural base and opening into a full canopy of hundreds of glass discs, each wired on individually.

Every leaf is pressed with a rippled, dew-like surface that breaks the light into dozens of small points instead of one flat reflection. The G9 bulbs sit hidden inside the canopy, so what reaches the room comes through the glass rather than out of a shade — diffused, warm and completely glare-free.

The trunk is cast with bark texture, knots and taper rather than bent from tube, which is what makes it read as something grown. Choose a brass disc base, low and sculptural against wood or stone floors, or a white marble cylinder base, which adds weight and a cooler note for a modern interior.

It plugs into a standard outlet with an inline switch — no wiring and no electrician. Stand it beside a sofa, in a dining room corner, beside a bed, in an entry or a study. Pair it with the Wisteria wall sconce to carry the same branch language across the room.

Why This One

A Tree You Can Stand in the Corner

01

The Bulbs Disappear Into the Canopy

The sockets sit deep inside the leaves rather than under a shade, so every bit of light has to pass through glass before it reaches the room. Nothing points down at a seated head and nothing glares from across the room — the canopy itself appears to be lit from within.

02

Hundreds of Leaves, Wired On One at a Time

Each glass disc is pressed with a rippled face and hung on its own twisted brass wire, then built up into sprays at uneven lengths. A moulded shade would take minutes; this canopy takes days, and it is the reason the crown reads as foliage rather than as a lampshade cut to look like one.

03

A Cast Trunk, Not a Bent Pole

The stem is cast with bark texture, knots and a taper that narrows the way a real trunk does, then finished in brass. It is also what holds the weight of the canopy overhead, which is why the crown can be this full without the lamp feeling top-heavy.

04

A Chandelier Without the Wiring

It gives a room the presence of a branch chandelier but plugs into an ordinary outlet and switches on the cord — no junction box, no electrician, no hole in the ceiling. It also moves with you, which a hardwired fixture never does.

Caring for the canopy: dust the leaves with a feather duster or a dry, soft cloth, supporting each spray from below rather than pulling it sideways on its wire. For fingerprints, a barely damp cloth followed by a dry one — never spray cleaner at the lamp, since liquid runs down the branches into the sockets. Unplug it and let the bulbs cool first, and always move the lamp by the trunk or the base, never by the canopy.

Find Your Fit

Measure the Canopy, Not the Base

The base takes up almost no floor, but the crown spreads more than two feet across at head height. That is the measurement that decides where this lamp can stand.

Model A · Marble Base

Dia 66 cm x H 165 cm
⌀ 26″ x H 65″

Model B · Brass Base

Dia 55 cm x H 170 cm
⌀ 21.7″ x H 66.9″

65–67″

overall height

Both models stand at roughly eye level for an adult, so the canopy sits above a seated head and below a standard 8 ft ceiling with room to spare.

21.7–26″

canopy spread

Around two feet across. Leave that much clear on every side at head height — a wall, a curtain or a bookcase edge that close will crowd the leaves.

30″

clear square to allow

Plan a 30″ square of clear space and the lamp sits comfortably. Anything tighter and you will be brushing the canopy every time you walk past it.

Scale & Proportion

Both models shown beside a figure of 5′6″

Model A · Marble Base Model B · Brass Base H 65″ 165 cm ⌀ 26″ canopy H 66.9″ 170 cm ⌀ 21.7″ canopy 5′6″ / 66″

Drawn to scale. Figure shown for reference only and is not included.

A line drawing gives Model A as 26 inches across and 65 inches tall, and Model B as 21.7 inches across and 66.9 inches tall.
Which Model The two are within two inches of each other in height, so the real choice is the base. Marble is the heavier and steadier of the two and reads cooler in tone, and the wider 26″ canopy suits an open corner. Brass keeps everything one material and the narrower 21.7″ canopy fits a tighter spot.
Where It Stands Beside a sofa or an armchair, in a dining room corner, at the end of a bed, in an entry or a study. Allow a 30″ clear square, and keep the canopy clear of curtains, doors and anything that swings.
Setting It Up No installation. Fit G9 bulbs — 2700K warm white is what brings the texture out of the glass — plug it in and switch it on at the cord. Run the cord along the skirting rather than across a walkway.

Before you order: mark a 26″ circle on the floor with tape and stand something 65″ tall in the middle of it — the canopy is the part that surprises people, because it sits at head height rather than down by the skirting. Check the nearest outlet while you are there, since the lamp plugs in rather than wires in.

Stability & Safety

Heavy Where It Needs to Be

A tall lamp with a wide glass crown raises an obvious question, and most listings skip it. Here is what the weight actually is, where it sits, and where this lamp should and should not stand.

5 kg+

over 11 lb, most of it low

The weight is concentrated in the base rather than spread up the lamp, which keeps the centre of gravity near the floor even with the canopy at head height. The marble base is the heavier of the two — take that model if stability is your first concern.

Light

where it counts, up top

The canopy looks substantial but is made of thin glass discs on fine wire, so the crown adds very little weight above the trunk. Volume up there, not mass.

Give

the leaves move, not snap

Each leaf hangs on its own wire loop rather than being fixed rigid, so a brushed shoulder or a passing sleeve moves the canopy and it settles back.

Where to Stand It Against a wall, in a corner, or behind a sofa or armchair — somewhere with a 30″ clear square that nobody walks through. On a hard floor it sits flat; on a thick rug, press the base down until it stops rocking before you let go.
Where Not To Not in a doorway, a hallway or the route between a sofa and a kitchen. Not where a door swings, and not beside a curtain that blows. This is a corner lamp, not a thoroughfare one.
Marble or Brass Both bases are weighted and both stand securely, but the marble cylinder is noticeably heavier and sits lower in the hand. Choose marble for a busier room, a rug, or a household with children or a dog; brass keeps the whole lamp one material and suits a quiet corner.
Children & Pets The base is weighted, but no floor lamp is climb-proof or dog-tail-proof. In a house with a toddler or a large dog, put it in a corner they do not run through, or choose the matching wall sconce instead and keep the floor clear.
The Cord Run it along the skirting to the nearest outlet rather than across a walkway. A cord crossing open floor is the most common way a floor lamp goes over — far more common than anyone knocking the lamp itself.
Moving It Lift by the base or low on the trunk, never by the canopy. Picking it up by the crown puts the whole weight of the lamp onto wired glass, and that is the one way this lamp gets damaged in a home. Worth telling whoever else moves furniture.
If a Leaf Comes Loose Keep the disc and send us a photo. The loops are open brass wire and can be closed again with fine pliers — we will tell you where on the spray it belongs.

Certified, not just assembled: the lamp is UL, CE and SAA certified and runs on 110V–240V with an inline switch on the cord. There is nothing to wire and nothing to mount — fit the bulbs, plug it in, and the only decision left is where it stands.

Two Models

Same Tree, Two Ways to Root It

The trunk, the branches and the glass are identical. What changes is what the tree grows out of — and with only two inches between them in height, the base is the whole decision.

The white marble cylinder base with brass roots spreading across the top.

Model A · Marble

Roots Over Stone

Brass roots spread out and grip the top of a solid white marble cylinder, so the trunk looks planted rather than bolted down. The cool white stone breaks up all that brass and gives the lamp a second material to play against — and it is the heavier and steadier of the two.

Canopy ⌀ 26″ · the wider crown
Height 65″
Take it for Busier rooms, rugs, cooler interiors, marble or stone already in the room
The textured brass disc base where the cast trunk meets the floor plate.

Model B · Brass

One Material, Top to Floor

The trunk runs straight into a low brass disc cast with the same hammered texture, so there is no join to notice and nothing interrupts the line from canopy to floor. It sits flatter and takes up less visual weight at ground level — the quieter of the two.

Canopy ⌀ 21.7″ · the tighter crown
Height 66.9″
Take it for Tighter corners, warm and traditional rooms, brass hardware already in the room
If space is tight Brass. The canopy is four inches narrower, which is the difference between clearing a corner and brushing it every time you walk past.
If the room is busy Marble. More weight low down, and more of it sitting on the floor rather than above it.
If you match hardware Brass keeps the lamp to one metal and disappears into a room with brass taps, handles and frames. Marble introduces a second material, which works better in a room that already has stone in it.
If it goes on a rug Marble. A heavier base beds into a thick pile and stops rocking; a flat disc can sit unevenly on a deep rug until you press it down.

Both are cut and cast by hand: marble is quarried, so the grey veining runs differently through every cylinder, and the brass disc is hammered rather than pressed, so the texture never repeats. Neither base will match its photograph exactly — that is the point of using real materials.

Choosing Bulbs

The Bulbs Live Inside the Canopy

They sit surrounded by glass leaves rather than under a shade, so size matters as much as colour: a bulb that is too big pushes the leaves aside and sits against them while hot.

Three G9 Bulbs, Three Results

All three fit the socket. Only two of them belong in a canopy.

G9 LED capsule small, cool-running, 2700K what the photographs use Edison-style G9 visible filament, more sparkle runs warmer, check the fit Oversized bulb pushes the leaves aside hot glass against cold glass

Diagram — bulb sizes shown against the surrounding leaves, proportions indicative.

Base G9, the small two-pin base that pushes in rather than screws. Bulbs are not included — check the pins before buying a pack, since G9 and G4 look similar in a photograph.
Size Small only. A standard G9 capsule or a slim Edison-style G9 clears the leaves. Anything larger pushes the glass aside and rests against it while lit, which is the one avoidable way to lose a leaf.
Colour 2700K warm white. Anything cooler turns frosted glass grey-blue and flattens the brass to a dull silver — the warmth in the metal is most of what you are buying.
LED or Edison LED runs cool, which matters with glass this close, and gives the soft even glow in our photographs. Edison-style puts a visible filament behind the leaves for more sparkle, but runs hotter — keep it to the lower wattages.
Output 3 to 4W per socket is the intended level. This is an ambient lamp — pushed brighter, the canopy stops glowing and the bulbs start showing through as hot spots.
Dimming Fit dimmable G9 bulbs and use a plug-in or in-line dimmer, since the lamp plugs into an outlet rather than a switched wall circuit. Turned low is where this canopy is at its best.
Fitting Them Unplug first. Move the leaves gently aside with one hand and push the bulb straight in rather than forcing it past the glass — and buy them all from one pack, since a single cooler bulb inside a canopy shows from across the room.

If it does not look like the photographs: check the bulbs before anything else. A daylight bulb, an oversized bulb or a handful of mismatched leftovers from a drawer will change this lamp more than the base, the room or the corner it stands in ever will.

Made by Hand

Built From the Root Up

A tree is not assembled from a kit. This one is cast, wired and rooted in that order, and the second step alone takes longer than the whole of a conventional floor lamp.

A close view of the textured metal trunk with twisted vine stems winding up alongside it.

Step One

The Trunk Is Cast, Not Bent

A bent pole gives you an even column; a cast trunk gives you bark texture, knots and a taper that thins as it rises. Slender vine stems twist up alongside it rather than being clipped on, so the structure and the wiring read as one thing that grew rather than as a cable someone had to hide.

Step Two

Every Leaf Twisted On by Hand

Each glass disc is pressed with a rippled face, drilled, then hung on its own loop of twisted brass wire — and every fork in the branch becomes somewhere a spray can drop from, at a different length to the one beside it. Hundreds go onto a single canopy. A moulded shade would take minutes and would fall in a straight line; this is why the crown reads as foliage rather than as a lampshade cut to look like one.

Where the sprays hang

A textured glass disc hung on a hand-twisted brass wire loop.

How each leaf holds on

Brass roots spreading across the top of the white marble cylinder base.

Step Three

Rooted Rather Than Bolted

The trunk does not meet the base at a flange. On the marble model the brass roots spread out and grip the stone; on the brass model the trunk runs straight into a hammered disc with no join to notice. Either way the weight goes low, which is what lets a canopy this wide stand on a base this small.

Hand-Made Variation

No Two Trees Are Alike

Every step above is done by hand, which means your lamp will differ from the photographs in small ways. Here is exactly where to expect it.

Canopy Leaf lengths and the fall of each spray are set by eye rather than measured, so the shape of the crown varies from one lamp to the next.
Glass The pressed texture differs from leaf to leaf, so no two catch the light in quite the same pattern.
Trunk & Base Faint casting marks and soft seams are left in rather than polished out, and the marble is quarried, so its veining runs differently through every cylinder.

These are the marks of a hand-made piece rather than defects, and they are what keep it from looking machine-pressed. Anything that arrives broken, missing or faulty is a different matter entirely — send us a photo and we will put it right.

Where It Goes

It Wants a Corner, Not a Centre

This lamp fills the part of a room nothing else knows what to do with — the empty corner beside a chair, the blank end of a hallway, the gap between a sofa and a window. Five places it earns its footprint.

The Wisteria floor lamp lit beside a sofa in an oceanfront living room.

Living Room

Beside the Sofa, Where a Table Lamp Would Be Lost

In a room with a view and a lot of glass, a small lamp on a side table disappears. This one stands at head height and gives the seating area something vertical to sit against, while the canopy throws the light sideways across the room rather than down into a pool. Keep it to the end of the sofa and off the walkway to the window.

The Wisteria floor lamp lit beside a leather sofa in a library study.

Study & Library

Softening a Room Full of Straight Lines

Shelves, spines and panelling are all rectangles. A branch is the one shape that breaks that up, and the brass sits naturally against leather and dark wood. Add a reading lamp for the chair — this one is for atmosphere, not for pages.

The Wisteria floor lamp lit beside a bedside armchair.

Bedroom

The Corner by the Chair

Beside a reading chair or at the end of the bed, it takes the place of an overhead light in the evening. Fit dimmable bulbs and run it low — turned down, the canopy glows without ever pointing light at anyone lying down.

The Wisteria floor lamp lit beside an armchair in a sunroom.

Sunroom & Balcony

A Tree Among the Plants

Surrounded by real foliage the glass reads as another plant that happens to be lit, and daylight through the leaves carries the piece even switched off. Keep it to the covered, dry side — this is rated for indoor use only.

The Wisteria floor lamp lit beside a console in a hallway.

Hallway & Entry

At the End of the Corridor

Beside a console or at the far end of a hallway it gives a long blank run somewhere to arrive. Set it against the wall rather than in the walkway — the canopy sits at shoulder height and a corridor is the one place people move without looking.

The one rule that covers all five: allow a 30″ clear square and keep the canopy out of the route people walk. Everything else — which corner, which base, which room — is a matter of taste.

Care

Dust the Leaves, Move It by the Trunk

Two things keep this lamp looking the way it did on day one, and neither takes more than ten minutes a year. Almost all the damage that happens to a lamp like this happens while someone is moving it.

The Canopy

A feather duster over the leaves, or a dry microfibre cloth taken one spray at a time, cupping it from underneath so the wire is never pulled sideways. Textured glass holds dust in every ripple, which is what dulls the sparkle first.

The Trunk & Base

Dry cloth only. Metal polish, ammonia and abrasive pads cut through the finish on a cast surface faster than on a flat one, and marble is porous — water and glass cleaner leave marks in the stone that do not wipe away.

The Sockets

Keep everything wet away from them. Never spray cleaner into the canopy — liquid runs down the branches straight into the sockets, which turns a ten-minute dusting job into an electrical one.

Before You Start Unplug it at the wall and let the bulbs cool. Work from the side rather than reaching over the top, so nothing rests its weight on the canopy.
How Often Twice a year in most rooms. Near an open window, a fireplace or a kitchen, three or four times — airborne dust and grease settle on the upward faces of the leaves first.
Moving It Lift by the base or low on the trunk, never by the canopy. Picking it up by the crown puts the whole weight of the lamp onto wired glass — the single most common way one of these is damaged at home. Worth telling whoever else moves the furniture.
Never Use Glass spray, metal polish, ammonia, alcohol, vinegar, abrasive pads, or a vacuum brush on the leaves. Any one of them costs you the finish, the stone, or the wiring.
Changing Bulbs Unplug first. Move the leaves gently aside with one hand and push the G9 bulb straight in rather than forcing it past the glass.
If a Leaf Comes Loose Keep the disc and send us a photo. The loops are open brass wire and can be closed again with fine pliers — we will tell you where on the spray it belongs.

The short version: dry dust, no sprays, unplug first, and never lift it by the leaves. Cast brass and glass outlast almost everything else in a house on exactly that and nothing more.

Questions, Answered

Glass Leaf Floor Lamp FAQ

Does it need an electrician?
No. It is plug-in with a switch on the cord, and runs on 110V–240V. Fit the bulbs and plug it in.
Which base should I choose?
Marble is heavier and steadier, with a wider 26″ canopy. Brass keeps the lamp one material, with a tighter 21.7″ canopy for a smaller corner.
How much space does it need?
Plan a 30″ clear square. The base is small, but the canopy spreads 21.7 to 26″ at head height — that is the measurement that matters.
Is it stable? We have children and a dog.
It weighs over 5 kg, most of it in the base. But no floor lamp is climb-proof — take the marble base, stand it in a quiet corner, and keep the cord along the skirting.
Are bulbs included, and which ones should I use?
No. Use small G9 capsules at 2700K warm white, 3 to 4W each. An oversized bulb pushes the leaves aside and rests on them while hot.
Can it be dimmed?
Yes, with dimmable G9 bulbs and a plug-in dimmer. Turned low is where the canopy does the most work.
Does it match the Wisteria wall sconce?
Yes — same cast brass branch and the same textured glass discs. They read as one family in a room.
Can I use it in a bathroom or on a balcony?
A dry bathroom or covered sunroom, yes. Rated IP20 — keep it away from steam and rain, so no open balcony.
How do I clean it, and what if a leaf comes loose?
Unplug, then a dry cloth or feather duster only — no sprays. If a disc comes loose, keep it and send us a photo; the wire loops close again easily.
